The Department supports business development and investment in the City by assisting new businesses to start, helping existing businesses to grow and encouraging other businesses to locate here. This is achieved by offering services such as: networking, training and the provision of information.
The Economic Development Department also assists in maintaining the strength of the shopping strips in Boroondara by:
- Actively supporting the work of local trader associations

- Developing the skills of the retailers in these trader associations.
